Ethan is 8 years old today!!! I can not believe my little boy is getting so big! Ethan had a great birthday. He tried unsuccessfully to get out of school for the day. We spent the morning learning about the great lakes, major industries of MI, MN, WI, and the lock systems of canals. We have been reading a good book called "Paddle-to-the-sea" about a wooden canoe made by an Indian boy that makes a journey from Nipigon Lake, north of Lake Superior thorough the great lakes and canals to the Atlantic ocean. We studied about all the stops along the way. After finishing our school work, Ethan and Trey spent the rest of the day shooting Nerf darts at each other. Daddy got out of school early and was home at 3pm. We finished up the day with homemade pizza and cake!
The snow is melting. We had rain today and a high of 40 degrees. There should be more snow soon. Please keep up the prayer for Scooter's school. He started on Monday. Also I start back to work Friday, pray that our schedule works, with the time change it will cut an hour our of our school time and cause us to run a little later in the day.
On another note, we attended Our Savior Lutheran Church in Albany this weekend and really liked it. The kids all loved Sunday school and made lots of new friends. Everyone we have met is so nice. It is a small world, when talking to one of the pastors we learned that he is close with Doug and Delo. They are have been good friends since seminary. Doug and Delo are his children's god parents. We had a good laugh.
